Kind of sad that it’s not a full out “dual cultivation” or whatever they call it! Not because I’m some pervert or anything, but purely based on what would make sense from the information we have. I remember Yunxiao talking about this all the way back in the war arc when he saw the shadow of the phoenix for the first time. Based on what’s been said mixed with Yunxiao’s injuries it would only make sense that boning her is the only way. As i said, not for the visual imagery, but for the stories sake. I would’ve preferred if they insinuated that they fucked and skipped over the act! Kind of feel like they’re going a childish way with this, although the rest of the series is very morally ambiguous and logical, which is what i like and why i really enjoy this series!
There is an actual (sort of) dual cultivation method by having intimacy with people with Nine Yang True Bodies such as Luo Yunshang, but pretty sure that doesnt happen here according to what I read on the wiki.

The dual cultivation method with the Nine Yang True Body has been clearly defined (specifically around the chapters where Yunxiao obtains the phoenix flame, when he’s with Yunshang)! This is why it’s so sad that they don’t explore that now, in this dire situation. It’s like the author is watering it down, and usually he isn’t shy about stuff like this I.E letting Li Yi be raped by the death palace assassin clan etc
Well, Chinese manhua are rather strict with those kinds of things due to the government’s cultural policy. Unless they want the studio to be closed by the government.
Take Martial Peak manhua, for example. The novel is clearly for an adult audience, with dual cultivation, harems, you name it. But the manhua adaptation is plagued with censorship, with white clouds everywhere.
The studio really did try their luck with the drawings. We can see what the drawings are supposed to be, LOL.

And in the chapter where he and yushang cultivates together it just says they were half-naked not fully so take it as you will.
