tbh It would add a lot more to the story if linger was actually not on MC’s side from the start rather than her being like a dumb simp character whose only job is to leech MC
I dont want the mc to turn into a dark edge lord character.. just regain his old powers sooner now rather than dragging this out.. the villain in this arc pretty much one shot a 8th layer martial sovereigns.. mc ain’t ready for that smoke yet

this is the strength difference between martial sovereigns.. someone at the 8th layer was killed and humiliated like this.. meanwhile mc disciples couldn’t even put up a real fight against them.. once again the golden sanskrits return.. that could be the secret to the level beyond sovereign..
My theory is that the ones who attacked and killed Bro were “Goldblade and Silverpoint” and Ding Linger’s father — the latter (who received that look from Li Yunxiao) delivering the final blow. As for the reason, they’re affiliated with the Holy Land (I think that was the name — I’m referring to the group that took the MC’s disciples). Yuen Bro already knew about this but needed to confirm his suspicions about Young Master Yun before stirring up the hornet’s nest. The reason he revealed Li Yunxiao’s secret to his guild was precisely to secure strong support for the young master against the Holy Land, since he knew that Ding Linger is connected to them (even if she doesn’t know it herself — which is what I believe). But he didn’t count on the enemy already being infiltrated, in the form of one of the oldest and supposedly “neutral” elders, which led to his downfall. Now, our protagonist isn’t stupid — in fact, he’s a master strategist. With such an obvious clue left by Bro before dying, I believe that glare he gave was already a silent accusation like “it was you — Linger’s father, wasn’t it?”, which is why the guy felt that chill.
